I have some fun news to share from a mommy's perspective. At the beginning of the summer Eric announced that we would be having a baptismal service. My mind went to Jordan and Taylor who had earlier last year asked to start taking communion. They had made a profession of faith and were sensing the Lord saying taking communion would be the next step. They followed the way that we do it at Lifespring by going through the Pastor, (Eric, which makes it a little awkward when it's also you dad) meeting with one other spiritual leader at our church (this will be an Elder when we have them) and sharing your testimony to what God has done in you. I, as a mom, immediately thought about Jordan and Taylor needing now to be baptised, (in my mind it is the next step) but the Lord reminded me that this needed to be one of those moments when reminding, or manipulating, or whatever I was planning to do would not be good. This needed to be between them and the Lord and that He would lead them in the next step. So over the summer the conversation came up from time to time and the girls would ask questions and share where they felt they were being lead. It was very clear to me I had to continue to pray for them, and let it go. Anyway, they came to the point and followed the necessary steps needed in order to be a part of the baptismal service by trusting the Lord and then talking to Eric and I and let us know their desire for baptism. On Sunday September 22 we met at Serpent park, with the wind and the cold, as a church body and were able to celebrate Jordan and Taylor publicly announcing their faith. Here are some pictures from that day.
Here are the girls sharing their testimony before going in the cold water. They both did a great job and despite being a little nervous they seemed very confidant. It was the Lord's grace!
Don't let the sun fool you, it was pretty chilly!
Here are some pictures of our church family braving the chill and being there to celebrate!
Acts 2:38-39 And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptised every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for your children and for all who were far off, everyone whom the Lord our God calls to himself."
Have a blessed day and thank you to all who have prayed for our children spiritually over the years. Your prayers are still welcome and appreciated!
Love,
Miriam
